Rural reflections

All sites offer design opportunities and constraints.

This site on the edge of the Sorell township was a narrow L shaped site, bordered on one boundary by an existing unit development.

The planning of two three bedroom townhouses on the site used every bit of the available land.

The floorplans focus to the north with private outdoor space positioned off the bedrooms and living areas, shielded from the driveway and adjacent residents.

Designed to contrast with the new brick and tile offerings of the new subdivision adjacent, these houses interpret and reflect the high pitched roofs and timber cladding of the rural surrounds.

The success of this approach was then demonstrated in the interest created when they went to market and sold off the plan.
