Modular design for multiple two-level houses

A builder developer had purchased a large parcel of steeply sloping land with a frontage onto Mary's Hope Road in the northern suburbs of Hobart.

Our brief was to design modest three storey houses that dealt with the difficult site while creating a modern alternative to the normal brick and tile developer offerings of this area.

A two level design was proposed to minimise the construction footprint, maximise the northerly aspect and elevate the living areas above the busy road obtaining distant water views.

The resultant modular designs were flexible and could be adjusted to change the appearance from the street to create variation when numerous like houses were constructed.
