Richmond House

Contemporary take on cottage in heritage context
Recently built in the small town of Richmond, a place laden with heritage fabric, this house takes cues from cottages of a different time.
Designed to be only as big as the clients required to live (and provide shelter to house prized possessions such as motorbikes), the house is modest and budget conscious.
Two red brick solid forms were created, with a light connecting element placed between to divide living and sleeping areas.
Carefully placed windows capture vistas of the sweeping fields and natural surrounds.
