A realignment of the school’s heart
This project presented a masterplan strategy aiming to improve student safety and access around the campus. Repositioning the formal entry of the school from a busy street front to a safer internal location aligned it with existing arrival and circulation paths through the campus.
An existing toilet block that occupied a prime position was demolished to give the central courtyard space back to students and new compliant toilet facilities distributed in under utilised areas throughout the campus buildings.
Every classroom block was upgraded with provision for shared break out spaces and wet areas. Connectivity between general learning areas and break out spaces within year groups was achieved with new internal windows and sliding door/wall panels. An external deck, new Playstreet designed playground upgrade and a multi-purpose tennis court area further enhanced the learning environment.
The students, parents and teaching staff are delighted with the transformation that was completed largely within the term break creating a positive atmosphere for the new school year.
