Copping House
A sympathetic addition
IDW were engaged to revitalise and extend an existing weatherboard property in Copping. The brief was for a modest but contemporary addition to accommodate an extra bedroom and space for teenage sons.
With expansive views down the valley, the extension is clearly differentiated from the existing weatherboard structure and articulated from it with a new entry and corridor, developed further with a contrasting, but sympathetic materials selection.
The central linking element creates a new sense of arrival to the residence while a modest two story addition maximised the potential views, with a minimal increase in building footprint.
